You must have never heard of an ISP claiming about a low speed Internet connection that they are offering to the users. They always boast about low latency time and fast connection with high connectivity and lightning fast speed which will load pages very quickly and download complete files with in a flash and you will experience internet speed like never before with zero lag and 100% connectivity.
Well, if you read a poster or a banner with all these claims and you are an avid Internet user you surely will be interested in the claim and would want to get faster Internet connection with better speed. And once you use it, you may realize that the speed written and the speed provided is different and there is some difference between the two.
So, do you think the Internet service provider will let you know about the actual speed that is being provided to you if you feel that the net is working slower than advertised?
There are so many easy ways to figure out the speed of your broadband connection. But would that be an accurate speed test of your broadband connection? What if there are too many users connected and downloading things using some download manager and what if you tube or other websites with steaming audio and video are running at the time you are checking your Internet connection for speed?
The best option for you to check your Internet speed would be when you have no downloads and no heavy video audio streams running on your Internet connection. That is when you can Google for a good speed test and then use that test to determine the Internet speed that you are getting as opposed to what was promised to you. At a time when Internet activity is relatively low on your connection you are bound to get a much accurate Internet speed that is being provided to you. You also have to keep in mind that downloads can effect your internet speed and virus scanners can also start downloading data on their own to update. This all can affect your Internet speed test.
It is always better to compare a few connections before committing to anyone, as a slow speed Internet will irritate no one else but you.
