This phone is going to be great proof as to why Nokia is one of the best smartphone makers currently in the market. The phone is well made, has a great battery life, and has great call quality. It puts many of its rival phones to shame. The chassis is plastic but has a good solid feel, and has a nice matt finish. The smooth curves of the phone make it comfortable to hold, and it has an attractive slim look. On testing, a final version prototype, in comparison to the Nokia N8, there were no jitters, no crashes and jerks between home screens or switching between applications.
The C7 uses the Symbian ̂3, which is Nokia’s equivalent to Android and the iPhone. This operating system made its debut in the N8. In the N8, it was not optimised for the touch screen display phones, but it has been now, and it is one to value.
The C7 similar to the Nokia N8, but with the added feature of affordability. It has the same 3.5” touch screen with pinch and zoom functionality, uses the same AMOLED display technology, and the same resolution of 360 X 640 pixels. The main difference between these two phones is that the C7 has a smaller internal memory of 8GB as opposed to the N8’s memory of 16GB; however it will be getting the same memory card support as the N8 of 32 GB. The camera is also not as advanced as that of the Nokia N8. The Nokia C7 will feature an 8 megapixel camera, with fixed focus. It does however come many other functions which allow the images to be enhanced.
The cost of the mobile phone is again, great value for money. For example, along with the normal smartphone add-ons (music player, FM radio, assisted GPS etc) the C7 has the Ovi mapping system with a free lifetime license for car and pedestrian navigation. It is available for around £280 SIM free or for free on £25 per/month contracts. Many of the networks are stocking the phone so there are various buying options available.
